It is a good idea to bring the lost tooth\/teeth with you to the\u00a0appointment.<\/p><p>If it is in adult tooth, hold the tooth by the crown (the white part of the tooth) not the root, and rinse\u00a0off any dirt with cold water for no longer than 10 seconds. Then reimplant the tooth and get the\u00a0patient to bite onto something to keep it in place until you get to the dentist. The sooner the tooth is\u00a0repositioned into the mouth, the better the chance that it will survive.
